Currently, we require you to bring your own device (laptop, cell phone). Please, do not bring desktops or any all-in-ones that need to be plugged in to function. Remember to bring your charger.



Classes aimed at beginners and novices.

  • Identify the main components of a computer and explain their basic functions.
  • Describe the role of an operating system, and name common examples such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Perform simple tasks such as powering on the computer, using a mouse to navigate, opening and closing applications, and typing on a keyboard.
  • Describe the function of browser and understand what it means to “access the internet.”
  • Identify what makes a smartphone different from a regular cell phone and understand the differences between Android and iPhone.
  • Understand what “apps” are and how to manage them properly.
  • Be able to perform basic operations, such as powering off, adjusting volume, and connecting to wi-fi.
  • Manage personal details, like contacts, accounts, and basic settings.
  • Understand how to identify common online threats.
  • Describe the ways they can keep their accounts secure.
  • Adjust privacy and security settings on social media and email accounts.
  • Understand what viruses, riskware, ransomware, and hacking are.
  • Differentiate between local storage and cloud storage.
  • Upload, download, and organize files in the cloud.
  • Explain how the cloud allows access to files from different devices.
  • Use the cloud to share files and folders.

Classes to teach the basics of the Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. To practice this software, you must: purchase the software, sign up for a trial of the software, or use the free online versions of the software (some features missing in online version).

  • Navigate the PowerPoint software and understand the different parts of the screen.
  • Create slides with preferred formatting and designs.
  • Apply transitions and start a slideshow.
