Not having foundational knowledge of technology is a barrier for many in an increasingly digital world.

To bring technological resources to everyone, regardless of upbringing, education, or age.

Founded in 2025, Athena’s Tech was born from a passion for making technology accessible to everyone. We believe that understanding the digital world starts with a strong foundation in the everyday tech we rely on. We know that not everyone has had the same opportunities to learn the basics of technology. Some schools lack the budget for computers or teachers, while many adults found themselves in a tech-driven world long after their education has ended. We see these challenges, and we’re here to bridge the gap. In an increasingly digital world, it will become more difficult to learn new technology without understand the basics of technology as a whole.

Kay Wade, the founder of Athena’s Tech, launched the business after nearly a decade in the tech industry. Working for Microsoft, she fixed computers and taught computer classes both in groups and one-on-one. After being promoted, she continued to teach classes at a business level and created a training on a proprietary product for business clients and their employees. After leaving Microsoft in 2023, she joined Best Buy’s Geek Squad, continuing her mission to help people navigate the ever-evolving world of technology. With experience working with individuals of all ages, Kay is dedicated to empowering others with the knowledge they need to confidently embrace technology.

In 2025, Kay officially founded Athena’s Tech. Her goal is to partner with local community centers and libraries to offer free classes for technological navigators of all ages and experiences. Beyond that, Athena’s Tech hopes to one day partner with school districts to offer classes without impacting their schools’ budgets and partner with other organizations to help ensure no one gets left behind, because technology should be for everyone.
