Athena’s Tech has officially launched our new website! Can’t wait to continue growing this organization of mine and start bringing technological resources to the community I grew up in. As a start, I’ve partnered with the Cincinnati Recreational Commission to teach Internet Safety to their seniors.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time at CRCs all over the city. I remember the parks, pools, gyms, computer rooms, and all the friends I made all over the city. As a child, CRCs were some of my favorite places! Being able to give back to my community by teaching at the same CRCs is a full-circle moment and I hope I can show them how easy it can be to understand computers.
I’m still finishing my bachelor’s degree (due to graduate in spring next year) and I have a part time job, so I can’t give this organization my full energy just yet. I’m happy to have the opportunity to fine-tune my work while using the new skills I’m learning from school, but I can’t wait until I can give this the attention it deserves.
